Streaming natives and cordless converts know the benefits and drawbacks of shelling out roughly $30 every month for subscriptions to the Big 3 (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) plus more for any side services (HBO Now, CBS All Access, FilmStruck for the next 16 days). If you haven’t figured it out, you must have clickholed your way to this page by accident because that’s basically what Bundler does. Go log your data into the algorithm and we’ll tell you what you need and what you don’t. Yet the savviest of streamers who feel like they’ve cycled through the relatively stable offerings of the Big 3 may be tempted to revert to the old days of digital piracy. Unless this is a simulation, we’re not living in a dorm room in 2006 anymore, meaning there are more options out there that won’t have you paying cryptocurrency ransoms to Uzbek hackers. In fact, there are a ton of free movies and TV shows available through services like Tubi, Vudu, and Popcornflix, to name a few. As a bonus, whenever a title is available on one of these, Bundler links directly to the movie on the film page. Astute observers may have noticed the Free Movies container on the main pages, which features a round up of some interesting titles. However, if you’re still not sure if free is actually free, here’s a quick roundup of some of the pros and cons, as well as a few random highlights, available free to watch right this instant.

Tubi

Pros: Large library of titles available, easy to navigate genres and categories, watch via website or apps for iOS (Apple TV), Roku, Amazon Fire and others

Cons: Limited commercial interruptions (about 2 minutes for a feature film), registration required or login via Facebook

Some Cool Titles

The Stunt Man – Peter O’Toole said he based his performance the tyrannical film director on David Lean.

Dogtooth – The movie that brought us the Greek Weird Wave and made Yorgos the first name of film.

Showgirls – It's about the art of dancing.

Vudu

Pros: Large library of free titles, watch via website or Apple TV (4th gen), Roku, Android TV, Xbox and Playstation

Cons: Not available on Amazon Fire, ads, registration or login via Walmart (yes, that is not a misprint)

Some Cool Titles

Grandma – Lo-fi character comedy about a surly lesbian poet (Lily Tomlin) raising abortion money for her teenage granddaughter.

Animal Kingdom – Aussie drama about a Melbourne crime family gave us the late stage stardom of Jackie Weaver and spawned a cable series of the same name.

Beetlejuice – Watch it again before the inevitable reboot.

Popcornflix

Pros: Decent library of films plus original web series; available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and others. Good for harder to find titles.

Cons: Ads, registration required… you get the idea now. Navigation less user friendly..

Some Cool Titles

Sun Don’t Shine – Amy Seimetz’s low budget thriller turns the landscape of Florida into moody art cinema.
